TROY, NY – The Friends of Prospect Park (the Friends) will be hosting a free family yoga series this summer in Prospect Park. The 10-week series will be free and open to the public. The first event in the series began on Wednesday, June 29 and will run every Wednesday until August 17. Classes will take place outside from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
This health-focused community series is made possible by the Friends and will be presented by instructors Toni Smith and Nikki Rogers. Both are certified and experienced teachers from the Capital Region who will present beginner level lessons that will be fun, engaging and suitable for all ages.
“The Friends of Prospect Park are thrilled to be working with Toni and Nikki to create this wonderful weekly event this summer in Prospect Park,” said Friends President Peter Grimm. “We urge all attendees to bring a picnic supper to enjoy after class and take advantage of the many amenities the park has to offer,” Grimm continued.
“Be prepared for a fun and wholesome experience that will connect you to each other and to this beautiful park,” said Nikki Rogers. “Any cancellations, due to weather, will be posted on Facebook at: Friends of Prospect Park. No registration necessary, all are welcome. Bring a towel or yoga mat (Some mats will be available)” , said Toni Smith.
