Penticton Hospitality Event Filled GoByBike Week – Summerland Review

May 30 to June 5 is GoByBike week in Penticton and there are many events taking place to encourage people to get out and get moving.

The 13th annual GoByBike Week aims to encourage more people to incorporate cycling into their commuting and daily lives to reduce carbon emissions, save money and be healthier.

Kicking off the week of 2022 is a family open house at the Penticton Safety Village on Sunday, May 29 from 5-7 p.m.

On May 30, celebration stations will be set up around town for cyclists from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. from May 30 to Friday, June 3. At each station, riders will receive free drinks and snacks, daily prizes and giveaway entries, bike check-ups from Freedom The Bike Shop and The Bike Barn, plus a chance to enter the grand prize draw. price for a bike trip in Holland.

Schools will again participate with a variety of classroom activities.

Five of Penticton’s breweries will join in the celebration this year, with a different brewery each day from May 30 to June 3 offering a special happy hour for those arriving by bike.

On June 4, the week ends with a community ride before the final celebration at Penticton’s Gyro Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participating riders must be at Gyro Park by 10 a.m. to begin the family ride. A closing celebration will begin when the riders return, with a bike swap.
