Pairing plates full of food with performing arts was all the rage in the Redbud district of Owasso last weekend.
The Owasso Community Theater Company has partnered with Emersumnice Brewery to host “Sabotage on the Ultimate Server” for local audiences August 12-14.
The downtown dinner theater event gave OCTC attendees the opportunity to engage with the audience as part of the performance, which included different acts and games as part of the creative storyline.
“We had them interact like a live studio audience with cheers, boos and awes,” said CTEO Vice President Justin Searcy. “The best part was having the actors choose people from the audience to participate in one of the challenges they had to complete, serving them sodas and cookies while blindfolded.”
Searcy and his team put on a Friday and Saturday night show, as well as a Sunday matinee, which included dinner choices of smoked brisket, Cajun pasta, grilled chicken salad, and a bacon burger. Just a Bite also provided cakes for dessert.

Emersumnice owner Donnie Eldridge said he was delighted to host the three-day event with his wife in the brewery’s upstairs meeting room.
“This is an event that me and Jen have wanted to host since we opened in 2020,” Eldridge said. “We were big fans of Molly’s Landing Murder Mystery (in Catoosa) and wanted to bring something like that to Owasso.”
The new partnership between OCTC and Emersumnice set the stage for a weekend full of fun and camaraderie that Searcy and Eldridge said they hope to replicate again soon.
“This show was great fun with huge audience interaction,” Searcy said. “Emersumnice has been a wonderful host to us and we look forward to using their place again.”
Eldridge added: “The general consensus of the show has been a huge success, with audiences wondering what to show next. We look forward to our next collaboration with Owasso Community Theater in the near future.
OCTC’s upcoming show will serve as the stage production for the season opener of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” It will host auditions August 18 and 22 at 7 p.m. at the Owasso Community Center with performance dates October 6-8.
