Humboldt County Library and Playhouse Arts Host Free ‘Kids Mini Festival’ August 6

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Library:

The Humboldt County Library is partnering with Playhouse Arts to welcome families to a free Kids Mini Festival on Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Creamery Field at 1275 8e Street, Arcata.

Join Chicago-based singer and songwriter Laura Doherty as she visits Humboldt County for the first time. Her dynamic and interactive concerts will have children dancing and clapping to Laura’s original catchy tunes! Before and after both performances, families can enjoy interactive arts and crafts, giant bubbles with HumBubbles, stories with Ms. Sue from the Arcata Library, creative dancing with Shoshanna, the Arcata Playhouse Wonder Wagon, exhibits from the Redwood Discovery Museum, a walk-through fairy garden, and local organizations providing information about community resources. This event is free!

Laura Doherty will also be offering a free songwriting workshop for children aged 5 to 10 during the festival. Space is limited – register on Laura will perform two sets, one at 10:30 a.m. and a second at 1:00 p.m. The second set will include the children of the workshop.
Call the Eureka Library Children’s Desk at (707) 269-1910 or visit for more information. This event is made possible thanks to our partners

Playhouse Arts, Friends of the Arcata Library, Arcata’s Outdoor Events Grant and First 5 Humboldt!
