Hermiston Parks & Recreation Hosting Melon Fest & Bathtub Races

It’s going to be FUN in Hermiston next Saturday for Melon Fest 2022!

The FREE festival promises lots of fun for the whole family on Saturday, August 20 in downtown Hermiston, OR. Melon Fest runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fun event is hosted by the Hermiston Downtown District & Hermiston Parks & Recreation.

What time are the tub races?

The tub races are due to start at noon, with teams of 3 competing, 2 to push and 1 to steer. Team uniforms and slogans are encouraged. If you haven’t registered yet, you can register your team here.

According to the Facebook post:

Fight your way to victory in the annual MelonFest tub races! The Grand Prize value is $300. Grab 2 friends and race the 100′ course in a knockout racing tournament. It’s a FUN EVENT and you WILL GET WET! Team uniforms/costumes and team names are encouraged!

The watermelon costume contest is at 10 a.m.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will be rewarded and recognized for their creativity.

Melon Fest will include face painting, a photo booth, games for kids, an obstacle course, food and craft vendors, and FREE slices of watermelon.
