City of Austin and TreeFolks Host Tree Planting Event on January 8

The city of Austin hosts a free tree planting event at Longhorn Shores January 8, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

that of the city Community Tree Preservation Division and Watershed Protection Department team up with TreeFolks and Keep Austin beautiful to improve wildlife habitat, reduce erosion, and improve Colorado River water quality by planting tree seedlings.

TreeFolks is a non-profit organization within Travis County who works with communities in central Texas to plant trees and educate about urban and wilderness reforestation efforts. The association planted 2.8 million trees in central Texas, hoping to improve and improve the environment.

All supplies needed for the “Ready, Set, Plant!” the event will be provided by TreeFolks.
