Orangeburg’s First Presbyterian Church is hosting a 7 p.m. Christmas benefit concert on Sunday, December 19. Enjoy an evening of Christmas music and readings as we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth. A love offering will be collected for The Samaritan House.
The concert is called “One Starry Night” and will feature “First Praise and Friends,” the First Presbyterian praise group along with other singers and musicians from several area churches. The music will be a variety of Christmas classics and original arrangements.
“The idea for this Christmas benefit concert was born last summer,” said Bert Shuler, frontman of First Praise. “Our praise and worship group has prayerfully decided to invite singers and musicians from other churches to join us. We want to share beautiful music and Christ-centered readings with the community of ‘in a new way, with an offering of love for the benefit of a deserving local charity. “
The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 650 Summers Avenue, Orangeburg, SC. Samaritan House offers temporary housing, outreach programs and homeless transition services in Orangeburg.
