The tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday September 16 and 17

ATSCADERO – The City of Atascadero is hosting the 6th Annual SHOWDOWN Charity Cornhole Tournament on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17.

The Knights of Columbus is planning two days of fun with a 2-person team tournament Friday with a 12 p.m. kickoff in Atascadero and the main 2-person team tournament Saturday with registration starting at 8 a.m. Both tournaments will be held at the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero.

Proceeds benefit the North County Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program and Escuela Del Rio. Kickoff for Cornhole matches begins Friday at 12 p.m. with an 11 a.m. finish. On Saturday, plan a full day of games, as there are a nine-game minimum for this fun tournament starting at 9:30 a.m.

Friday September 16

The Central Coast Challenge at Sunken Gardens: meet at 11 a.m. for the eight-team Round Robin Toss from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., break from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the A & B Bracket finals from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Fun prizes for first through fourth place. The cost is $40 for a 2-person team entry fee donation (40 teams maximum).

Saturday September 17

The Showdown, Main Tournament at Sunken Gardens: Check-in is at 8:00 a.m., with the eight-team round robin at 9:30 a.m. The tournament will stop for lunch at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the Deja-Vu music. Group from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Finals will start at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 5:30 p.m. Up to $3,000 in cash prizes for first to fourth place for brackets “A” and “B” . Early bird registration is $60 for a two-person team entry fee donation; Early bird offer expires August 31. After that date, it increases to $80 per two-person team donation.

In addition to the main tournament, there will be a $50 prize for the best team costume and a Jenga challenge. Cash prizes apply to adult teams only (12+) and can total up to $3,000 with a sale of 128 teams.

Trophies will be awarded for first and second place. There will also be a “plus points” with a $10 buy-in and a $100 cash prize for first place. Coffee and pastries will be available to start your day, as well as food and beverages for lunch available for purchase from Atascadero Kiwanis.
