Andersonville Hosts Day of Performances to Celebrate ‘Chicago Year of Dance’

ANDERSONVILLE — Something of a dance party special is coming to Andersonville this weekend.

The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce is hosting Let’s Dance Andersonville!, an outdoor dance party to celebrate the city’s designation of 2022 as Chicago’s Year of Dance, according to a news release. People can enjoy music and performances at the free event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on Catalpa Avenue between Clark Street and Ashland Avenue.

Trey Elder, of the music group Quiet Pterodactyl, will be emcee and “master music mixing guru” for the event. Photographer Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth will also present Let’s Dance Andersonville! photos available for download on its website after the event.

Portions of the event will be streamed live on the Chicago Dance Supply dance store Facebook page.
